How to Make Mesh Over the Knot and What Are the Conditions?
Mest is the name given to a type of shoe that covers the feet together with the ankles.
The conditions necessary for wiping over socks to be permissible are as follows:
A) It should be worn after performing ablution by washing the feet,
B) It should be durable enough to walk approximately 5 km or more in a normal walk when worn on the foot,
C) The socks must be strong and thick enough to remain intact after being worn on the feet.
D) There should not be a hole in each shoe as wide as the width of the smallest toe,
E) It should not absorb water and transfer it immediately to the feet.
Wiping is a kind of cleansing action; it is done with wet hands on a limb, a shoe worn on the foot, or a bandage wrapped around a wound during ablution; and on the face and arms during tayamm, with hands rubbed in the ground.
Wiping over socks while performing ablution is a proven fact according to the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH). As a matter of fact, it is a proven fact that the Prophet (PBUH) performed ablution and wiped over his socks.
There are many narrations stating that he wiped over it (Bukhari, Wudu, 35, 48; Muslim, Taharah, 72, 73).
A person who has put on socks while having ablution can wipe over his socks for one day if he is a resident, and for one day if he is a traveller, after his ablution is broken.
The Prophet (PBUH) appointed a day and a night as the period of wiping over the massage for a guest, and a day and a night as the period of wiping over the massage for a resident (Nas'î, Taharah, 98).
If a person wipes his socks and performs ablution and then takes off both socks or one of them from his feet while he is in a state of ablution, it is considered that he has passed to the state of Hades (the state of being without ablution).
He should wash his feet without breaking his ablution and then put on his socks again. If he has washed his feet without having ablution, he should wash his feet again while performing ablution. If he has ablution,
It is sufficient to wash the socks with your feet; if you do not have ablution, you should slide your feet down and perform a complete ablution (KâSâNî, Bedâİu’S-Sanîî, I,9).
